All formats use best of 3 sets, ad scoring.
After Sign-ups we will determine the feasibility of a league or division based on entrants. If too few players sign up for an event, players will have the option to play in the next available higher level.
Play Locations:
North and South San Diego Counties. The boundary is Mira Mesa Blvd. All teams should have a home court/club where they can reserve court time in advance.
How Our Leagues Work:
Competitive League play requires teams. Each team must have a captain, someone responsible for scheduling matches. Team/Players given ten (10) weeks to complete 7 matches.. After sign-ups are closed, a list of potential opponenets will be posted. Home team must contact Away and offer two day and time options, and the Away team must accept one option or begin negotiations.
Round Robins: casual play for the more social players. Round robins are offered to men and women separately in singles. Each player must play with and against every other player within their division. Each player must play at least one match every two weeks to be considered active and remain on the list. Some accommodations can be afforded with advance notice.
About Teams:
Singles: Singles teams may have up to 2 players. Individuals are welcomed, though we offer the ability to work as team for busier people who cannot play every week and might wish to rotate or share a singles team. However, only one may play per match, and the other may only be used to substitute in the case of an injury or illness, and must be on the team roster.
Doubles: teams may have up to 4 players. Only two players may participate per match, and substitutes may be used only in the case of injury or illness, they must be on the team roster, and of the same gender as the player being substituted.
Finals:
Each county will conduct their own leagues, and earn their county’s divisional championship. Each division’s champion will have an opportunity to earn the San Diego Championship by competing against the opposite county champions.
