REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER 2007!

OCSD has several options for league play. Our formats are designed for busy professionals, or active players looking for supplemental gender specific competitive play. Small teams in both doubles and singles are available, as well as round robins and ladders.

The following is a summary of our singles and doubles leagues;

Leagues Available:
Men, Women, and Mixed Leagues 3.0-7.0 adult and senior.
Competitive Leagues: Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles
Round Robins: Singles, Doubles, and Mixed Doubles
All formats use best of 3 sets, ad scoring.

After Sign-ups we will determine the feasibility of a league or division based on entrants. If too few players sign up for an event, players will have the option to play in the next available higher level.

Play Locations:
North and South San Diego Counties. The boundary is Mira Mesa Blvd. All teams should have a home court/club where they can reserve court time in advance.

How Our Leagues Work:
Competitive League play requires teams. Each team must have a captain, someone responsible for scheduling matches. Teams must play one match per week (four matches may be rescheduled per season without penalty). After sign-ups are closed, a schedule will be posted indicating Home teams and Away teams, and the weeks each are to play against one another. Home team must contact Away and offer two day and time options, and the Away team must accept one option or begin negotiations immediately. The match must be played and the score submitted before midnight Sunday of each scheduled week.

Round Robins: casual play for the more social players. Round robins are offered to men and women separately in both singles and doubles, and offered as Mixed Doubles only. Each player must play with and against every other player within their division (excluding Mixed, where every man and woman must play with and against each other). Each player must play at least one match every two weeks to be considered active and remain on the list. Some accommodations can be afforded with advance notice.

About Teams:
Singles: Singles teams may have up to 2 players. Individuals are welcomed, though we offer the ability to work as team for busier people who cannot play every week and might wish to rotate or share a singles team. However, only one may play per match, and the other may only be used to substitute in the case of an injury or illness, and must be on the team roster.

Doubles: teams may have up to 4 players. Only two players may participate per match, and substitutes may be used only in the case of injury or illness, they must be on the team roster, and of the same gender as the player being substituted.

Finals:
Each county will conduct their own leagues, and earn their county’s divisional championship. Each division’s champion will have an opportunity to earn the San Diego Championship by competing against the opposite county champions.

Sign up:
Once you activate your account you will have access to the player registration, and once registered for the league you will be able to form or join a team.

Some court restrictions apply regarding conditions and availability. See your league outline for more detail.

For detailed outlines please select "LEAGUE OUTLINES"

This site was developed at the beginning of August 2006. Since then, we are getting hundreds of hits a week. OCSD is constantly being upgraded and you will likely find improvements and features being added all the time.

The primary purpose for creating this site is to build a communication hub for San Diego tennis players of all levels. Through our leagues, Calendar, event announcements, forums, member list, and private messaging no tennis player should be without a partner to play, practice with, or learn from.

We currently support WTT - San Diego and North County Leagues until they start their own national tracking system, and offer our tracking service to all sanctioned or non-profit leagues of any size.

You may find some features inaccessible or restricted. This may be a due to site maintenance, or a permissions issue. Some features are are private and limited to the staff only, or captains in regard to league resources (see Leagues). If you find a flaw, or a function that appears to be failing, or you feel you should have access to an area please notify the appropriate staff via any of the methods offered through our contact page. Remember, this site was developed by tennis lovers for tennis lovers. We would like to serve you by providing content and services you find useful. Please share your ideas and suggestions using our Feedback form.

Announcements will made as often as possible when new features are introduced.

User's email and all other private information received by the administrative staff are kept private and are never released to anyone for any reason without the written consent of that user. However, we are not responsible for information you reveal in your posts in the open forums, or your public submissions i.e. calendar event, news release, etc… When sharing your information in a private forum, you are only sharing with others granted privilege to access that forum, so you may wish to share your contact number with your team for emergencies, or discuss strategy with your team. OCSD utilizes several security features to ensure a safe environment for its users’ privacy.

OCSD reserves the right to ban or block abusive users, either temporarily or permanently. Our intention is to provide a clean environment for players of all ages, gender, and ethnicities. Please be respectful in the open forums.
